What is astrology?

What is astrology?

For thousands of years, many people have assumed that the sun, moon and planets influence our lives here on earth. By discovering recurring patterns and combining them with events and moods, astrology was born.

Moving planets

The sun, moon and planets move constantly. Some planets move faster that others. They are constantly changing position and orientation in relation to the Earth and each other.

Or zodiac

Astrologers have divided the Earth's path in a year into 12 sectors, better known as the 12 signs of the zodiac. The planets, as well as the signs of the zodiac, all have their own significance in astrology.

What is your star sign?

The sign everyone knows as "one's zodiac sign" is really only the sun sign, i.e. the position where the sun is in one of the 12 signs of the zodiac. Your entire horoscope is, of course, much more comprehensive. In doing so, you also have to look at where all the other planets were at the time you were born.

Fast and slow planets

For instance, the earth orbits the sun in one year and the moon orbits the earth in 24 hours. A planet like Neptune takes 164 years to make one orbit.

How long does a planet take?
