Spiritual Moroccan olive oil

Spiritual Moroccan olive oil

The history of olive oil

The olive oil comes from the town of Kacem. The land already belonged to my ancestors. It is the best soil for olive oil. After my grandparents died, my father continued it and my father bought out all his brothers. Later, my father also bought additional land to increase production. He did it for years, but only sold it domestically. Now it is finally available in the Netherlands and Suriname as well.

The oil is very highly condensed and you can use it for many things. For your skin, hair, resistance, sports, illnesses, negativities and of course you can also use it for cooking. Should you use it for cooking, I recommend putting some on top of your food. You can also put it on bread as a substitute for butter. For massages, olive oil is also very good. It tackles your cells to the depths of your skin very well!

Most hair products contain a lot of added ingredients that don't just have a positive effect on hair. Olive oil, on the other hand, is a natural product that contains many nutrients. Besides, the green-gold wonder product has antibacterial and antioxidant properties, protecting the hair. If you use olive oil in your hair as a conditioner, you can also mix some in your conditioner or champoo, a layer is put over your hair, so to speak, which prevents outside harmful substances from having a chance. You can use cold olive oil as a conditioner, or heat a small amount of the product in the microwave. Apply it to the hair and leave it on for 15 minutes. Afterwards, wash the hair with lukewarm water and your usual shampoo.

Moisturising effect of olive oil

Thanks to the vitamins A and E in olive oil, the hair's natural moisture levels remain balanced. The oil has a moisturising effect, preventing scalp irritation. To make the most of this hydration, mix a small amount of olive oil with an equal amount of coconut oil. Leave this mixture on for half an hour and then rinse thoroughly with cold water. You can apply this natural treatment two or three times a week.

Olive oil repairs damaged hair

Olive oil contains a large amount of good fatty acids and antioxidants. These substances promote cell renewal. As a result, hair appears to grow faster and further damage to the hair is prevented. To treat damaged hair, you can mix three parts olive oil with one part organic honey. Spread the mixture evenly over the scalp. Then cover the hair with a plastic wrap and leave the mixture on for 40 to 50 minutes for best results. Then wash your hair with lukewarm water then your hair will get a better quality and it will look beautiful again!

Repairs split ends

Split ends are almost impossible to save. It is often recommended to get your hair cut then, to prevent your locks from splitting further. Yet olive oil can care for your hair and even repair the ends. To ensure its beneficial effects, it is best to heat up some teaspoons of extra virgin oil. Gently massage the oil into the ends of your hair and leave it overnight. Feel free to use this treatment every night.

100% Olive oil prevents frizzy hair

Did you know you can tame your hair with just a few drops of olive oil? Your unruly locks will know no secrets from now on. Massage the olive oil into your hair and let the product soak in. There is no need to rinse the hair. To distribute the product properly throughout the hair, you can brush your hairstyle a little more.

Combats dandruff

We often buy all kinds of fine remedies to take care of our hair, but the scalp is still sometimes forgotten. It does not sound so fresh, but dead skin cells accumulate on the scalp. This can cause dandruff. To prevent this, you can make a natural scrub that you apply to the scalp about once a month. Combine olive oil with sea salt or baking soda. Massage it all over the scalp in circular motions. That way, you activate the blood circulation and the remedy is better absorbed by the skin. Afterwards, rinse your scalp well with lukewarm water.

Holy olive oil in the church

Olive oil is holy. I would not have dared to think that last week, but there is a grain of truth in it. Because after reading a homily by the previous pope (1-4-2010), both in Italian and Dutch, I am sure that olive oil has a very important place in the worship of the Catholic Church. I don't think Benedict had raised white smoke for the sanctity of olive oil in general, but there is a link between olive oil and faith.

Already in the Old Testament the olive tree is written about. In the beginning, well, a little later, the dove returns to Noah after the Flood with a twig, an olive branch. This sprig, like the dove, symbolises peace and even olive oil is assigned this symbolism.

God's power in olive oil

Olive oil plays an important role in the liturgy of the Catholic Church. And miraculously, it refers explicitly to the Mediterranean region, to the culture around the Mediterranean. Olive oil comes from this concrete historical domain where Christianity originated. So God also chose Italy as a very special place on earth to use this special, earthly product there to speak to humanity.

The oil of the olive tree has a wide-ranging symbolic meaning. It is nourishment, it is medicine, it gives beauty, it prepares for battle and gives strength. Kings and priests are anointed with oil. This symbolises dignity and the responsibility they have to bear. It is also a direct reference to the strength that comes from God. It is extraordinary to see how faith is so naturally intertwined with everyday life and how olive oil, in particular, is used for highlights.

The consecrated olive oil

Actually, olive oil accompanies all of life from birth (baptism) to death (anointing of the sick) and is always under the sign of giving strength through the mercy of God. The pope's words reflect the particularity. Benedict XVI: "Nel frutto dell'ulivo, nell'olio consacrato, ci tocca la bontà del Creatore, l'amore del Redentore.". "Through the fruit of the olive tree, in the consecrated oil, touches us the goodness of the Creator, the love of the Redeemer."

At dawn on Maundy Thursday, the olive oil is consecrated and blessed for the whole year, making it holy. After that, the oil can be used for the Sacraments. This oil is then so special that should there be any leftover, it cannot be thrown away, only burnt. This holy oil is not for eating, yet the better olive oil is used. After all, this is oil reserved for God's purposes. But I am almost certain that by the end of the year, the holy oil would be absolutely unfit for ordinary consumption!

Vulnerable olive oil

Olive oil in its purest form is very fragile and needs proper care. Air, light and large temperature variations are great enemies of olive oil and can turn even the finest olive oil into an unpalatable commodity. You could even say: the finer the oil, the more fragile.

Olive oil that should not be used for consumption is called "lampante" after its former use as fuel for oil lamps (lampade). Since we do not make lampante, but olive oil for eating, it is currently important to keep a close eye on the heat level in our cellar. To preserve olive oil optimally, a stable environment with a temperature of around 15°C is needed.

We enter the fray

The symbolism of oil also includes, as mentioned, that it makes one strong for battle.
